The Jilanjo company was started in 2000 and aquired land to grow a plantation forest in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania.

In 2004 it signed a contract to grow artimesia for a subsiduary of Novartis for an anti-malaria drug. The company has in 2005 merged with Caspian Agriculturial Division and taken over thier main contracts hauling tea and timber in the Southern Highlands.
